Rules & Regulations

 

 

SCHOOL TIMINGS:

The daily working hours of the school is from 09.00 a.m. to 04.30 p.m. with a lunch break of 35 min. from 12.25 p.m. to 1.00 p.m. However students are expected to be in the school premises by 8.30 a.m. 
 

1.All the children are expected to be in their respective classes immediately after the first bell.
2.No student will be permitted inside the school campus after 8.55 a.m. and the management is in no way responsible for the students who come late.

3.Every day attendance is marked in the morning immediately after the second bell, before teaching starts. A student who is not   present at the time when the attendance is taken, loses the attendance for the session.

4.Remedial classes: Students who are slow learners may be asked to spend extra time in the school. Attendance to remedial classes is compulsory. 

5.The student's bags will be checked to ensure that no unhealthy reading materials, articles or gadgets are brought to the school or are possessed by the students.

 

SCHOOL UNIFORM

 

1.Blue Uniform (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)

The School Uniform consists of Navy Blue pants (Boys and girls from VI to X)/ pinafore (Girls lkg-V), and blue lined sky blue shirts. Boys and Girls must wear black leather shoes, Navy Blue socks, school belt and tie. Girls should tie up their hair with Blue ribbons.

 

2.White Uniform (Wednesday)

On Wednesdays the uniform will be white pants (Boys)/ skirts (Girls) with white shirts. White canvas shoes and white socks, school belt and tie and girls have to tie up their hair with white ribbons.

 

3.Sports Uniform(Saturday)

On Saturday the uniform is Navy blue pants/pinafore and Colour T-shirts according to the group colour.

 

4.The shades and pattern 

Shades and pattern of the uniform must be as prescribed by the school which is displayed in the school premises. Only white canvas shoes are permitted and not tennis shoes. Students are allowed to wear only navy blue and white socks. Ankle socks are not allowed.

 

5.Other Rules

A. Students are required to wear the school uniform on all working days.

B. A student who comes to school without the right uniform should produce a note of excuse, duly signed by the parents.

C. Students should cut their nails regularly, wear clean uniform, ribbons and socks and well-polished shoes.

D. Students are not allowed to apply mehandi or colours on the hands or tattoos on the body.

E. Girls should tie their hair in two pigtails with ribbons. Boys should have a normal hair cut without shades or designs.

 

School House System

In order to create team spirit, co-operative attitude and friendly competitive tendency, the students are divided into four houses, namely, Cosmonauts (Yellow), Aeronauts (Blue), Argonauts (Red), and Astronauts (Green). All the school activities, academics, sports and games, co-curricular and extracurricular activities are conducted on inter house basis.

 

School Calendar

Every student must have one’s own calendar and bring it to the school daily. A boy / girl who loses or mutilates his/her calendar will have to buy another one which would cost him/her Rs. 100/- When a student is absent or late or fails to come to school in uniform, parents must send a brief communication in writing not exceeding one line, to the school on the page allotted for the purpose or on the day’s page. On the same page, students, will take down assignments or home-work given on that particular day in various subjects. This is to help parents to keep in touch with the work in the class. Any communication that the Principal / the teachers have for parents will also be written and parents are requested to read and sign against them. Particulars of the payment of fees and the
marks secured in the tests are to be entered in the School calendar.

 

Leave of Absence

Leave of absence will be granted only on prior information on a written application from the parent / guardian. Reasons for leave must be valid. In case of absence due to illness, the student, on returning to school must bring a note in his calendar (in the Absence Record Column) stating the reason for his/her absence and duly signed by the parent/guardian. Reasons like “Private work” at home - will not be accepted. Parent is to
meet the Principal for obtaining more than two days leave. If the student is likely to be absent for more than a week, the Principal should be informed within first three days of absence.

 

Absence without Leave

A boy/girl who has been absent from school will not be allowed to enter the class unless he/she brings a note in his/her calendar, stating the reason for his/her absence duly signed by his/her parent/guardian and obtains the Principal’s / Supervisor’s permission. If a student is absent for more than two days, the parents must meet the Principal before the student is sent to class. Absence without leave, is not encouraged. If absence is prolonged for
more than 10 days consecutively the boy’s / girl’s name will be struck off the rolls. He/She may be re-admitted on payment of Rs.1000/- but after obtaining permission from the Principal. Readmission may be granted
only for very grievous reasons provided the Principal considers it fit.

 


ADMISSIONS AND WITHDRAWALS
 

Admission policy

1.The Principal admits children only after they are selected by a selection Committee consisting of three members constituted by the Correspondent.

2.The L.K.G. admissions are decided by the Selection Committee after meeting the parents and the child as and when the dates are announced by the Committee.

3.Admissions to the classes other than L.K.G are decided by the Selection Committee in the beginning of the academic year as per the availability of vacancies.

4.Age required for admission to KG is completion of three and a half years.

5.The parent or guardian in person should introduce the child to the principal.

6.No recommendations are entertained.

 

Withdrawals

A month's notice is required before a boy/girl can be withdrawn from the school, failing in which a month’s fee must be paid. Those who leave in April must pay the fees for May also. Notice of leaving the school must be given before the beginning of the holidays, or else fees for the first month of the following term will have to be paid.

 

ASSESSMENT, EXAMINATIONS AND PROMOTIONS

1.Examinations are conducted regularly i.e. four Formative Assessments and two Summative Assessments. The average of the academic Performance of each child shall be computed taking into account the averages of the four Formative Assessments which will be added to the II Summative Assessment marks. 

2.The time table for each test is communicated to the student in advance in their respective classes.

3.Attendance for all examinations is compulsory. As such any boy/girl who absents himself/herself from any examination shall be awarded zero for the same. Exemption shall be granted on medical grounds which shall be certificated by a registered practitioner. Hence, parents/guardians are requested not to ask for exemption from examination for the purpose of marriage, functions, pilgrimages, pleasure trips and so on.

4.The minimum pass marks in each subject is 40%. Grades will be awarded according to the marks secured.

5.A boy/girl who takes or gives dishonest help in an examination will be debarred from the rest of the examinations. Promotions are made once a year after the Summative Assessment II. Every pupil has to put in a minimum of 90% attendance.

6.There will be no re-examination at any time for any reason except when a student is required to represent the school in some activities outside.  

7.Results of Examinations are final and will not be reconsidered. The answer sheets of the annual examination will not be shown to anybody.
 

PROGRESS REPORT

Progress Reports are issued at the end of each series of Formative Assessments and Summative Assessments. Specimen signature and initials of the parents/guardians must be given in the columns in the progress reports.

Progress reports are issued regularly and parents themselves must sign and return them to the school promptly within three working days. Parents must make a very careful study of the Report when sent it to them and in case of failure in any subject, they must make efforts to help their wards to improve their marks in the following tests.

 

GENERAL CODE OF CONDUCT

1.Strict regularity, obedience, courtesy in speech and conduct are expected from every student. Students must maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness.

2.Home assignments should be done regularly and carefully and submitted in time.

3.The school premises and surroundings should be kept clean and tidy.

4.Irregular attendance, unsatisfactory application to studies, disobedience and objectionable conduct in and out of school is not expected of students.

5.Students are not expected to take part in any political activity.

6.Every student is expected to look after his/her belongings: books, umbrella, raincoat, tiffin carriers and so on. These should be marked with his/her name. He/She should avoid having money or valuables with him/her. The school does not hold itself responsible if books, clothes, cycles or other articles are lost.

7.No provocative books, magazines and newspapers should be brought or circulated within the school premises.

8.Mobile phones, ipods, ipads, smart watches and other electronic gadgets which are not required, should not be brought to the school.

9.Every student must have his/her Calendar and bring it to school daily.

10.All material like books, stationery, food or clothes, required by the student during class hours should be brought in the morning by the student himself / herself. No material will be received and passed on to the students during school hours.

 

USE OF ENGLISH

Being an English Medium School, students shall speak English at all times except in other language classes or if a situation warrants.

PRINCIPAL’S PERMISSION AND SANCTION REQUIRED

1.To make a collection for any purpose, whatsoever.

2.To arrange for a meeting, a picnic and so on

3.To leave the school premises during working hours.

4.For any boy/girl to join a sports meet or to play in a tournament outside the school.

5.To arrange for private tuition by teachers of the school.

6.For any parent or visitor to meet a pupil or teacher during the working hours.
 

Library

1)   Library is a place of Silence. All are requested to keep silence in the library.

2)   The time to take library books is from 3.30 p.m. to 4. 30 p.m. on all working days.

3)   While searching library books in the shelves, the students are requested not to misplace the books.

4)   The reference books of the library are not to be taken out of library.

5)   The students from class VI to X are allowed to take books to their house for three days. On the fourth day the students can apply for a re-issue for one more day. If some-one fails to return in 3 days it carries one rupee fine per day.

6)   One person is allowed to take maximum of two books at a time.

7)   Library books will not be issued in the common library period.

8)   The students should maintain the library books neatly and with utmost care. No writings or designs are allowed in the library books.

9)   If the library book is lost, the one who missed it, is supposed to pay the value amount of the book as prescribed by the librarian.

10)  One should take books from the library after entering the details of the book in the library computer system via librarian. At the same time it is to be entered in each student’s school diary also.
